Just a Few of the local Attractions near to the Amon - there are hundreds!
The Amon Hotel is ideal for people who are familiar with Luxor and also for those who aren’t au fait with the way of life in Egypt. The village is close enough to walk to in under five minutes and the monuments of Luxor’s West Bank are only a few minutes away too.

The famous Mortuary Temple of Ramses III, Medinet Habu, is close to hand as is Deir el Medina and the Colossi of Memnon and the Ramesseum.
The Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Nobles and the Valley of the Queens are all close to hand too. A bicycle can be hired from the hotel as can motorbikes and even donkeys!
The taxi services are almost always available and the staff are happy to organise any form of transport at any time of the day or night.
Limousines are readily available for the affluent and shoe-repairs are within a short distance for the not so well-heeled!
Balloon trips over the Theban mountains; all of the ancients sights and the River Nile set-off from the West Bank (often just before dawn) and these locations are very easy to reach from the Amon Hotel. The hotel staff are happy to provide breakfast boxes for tourists and travellers who would like to take advantage of Luxor’s sights in the earlier hours of the day.
The local ferry runs during almost all hours of the day and night but ‘power boats’ (carrying around twelve people) are available at any time of the day or night and provide a cost-effective method of getting to the East Bank (ancient Waset or Thebes) to see the likes of the Temple of Luxor; Temple of Karnak and the Avenue of Rams.
The English-speaking staff are always available to help arrange almost any tour or transport requirements.
Ideally situated, we are sure that you will appreciate the location, service and overall feel of the hotel and its amenities.

The Amon Hotel is a haven in amongst the hustle and bustle of modern-day Egyptian life. With a magnificent tropical garden and a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing environment, this hotel is truly unique. Offering amazing views of the lush vegetation on Luxor’s West Bank, the Hotel Amon can be found amongst daily village life and yet far enough away to offer the discerning visitor one of the best experiences in Upper Egypt.

The central courtyard with its wonderful tropical gardens are a testament to the care taken with every detail at the hotel.
The hotel itself is comprised of three large buildings, each overlooking the tropical gardens. There are seventeen rooms and a very cosy atmosphere to accompany them. Air conditioning is, of course, available though the hotel complex benefits from the cooler winds on the higher floors.
Each floor has two rooms and for perfect privacy two rooms (on one floor) can be booked so that a family-type feel is achieved as you effectively have a complete floor to yourself with breakfast or coffee area, in addition to the main restaurant and coffee areas inside on the ground floor.
Privacy is important to many of those who choose to visit the Amon - coupled with the amazing scenery from the upper floors we are sure you will understand exactly why after only a few minutes ‘at home’ in our hotel.
The hotel is family friendly and children delight in roaming around the gardens with their hidden nooks and crannies to explore. The only warning to be given is that of the numerous pools and ponds in the gardens - we would suggest that children be supervised in these areas.
The exotic trees, shrubs and plants offer a wonderful area in which to have an afternoon break, relax or to take breakfast in the exquisite tropical gardens.
Paradise? Not quite but the Amon Hotel has a perfect location with wonderful facilities that will make your stay as near perfect as possible.

The choice is, obviously yours, as you can take breakfast in your room; in the wonderful exotic gardens or in the breakfast and restaurant areas indoors.
No ’standard’ breakfast is offered as the Amon Hotel pride themselves on providing a bespoke meal service - if you want a specific dish, just let the staff know and the dedicated team members will do all that is possible to provide you with what you want and need to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
If you prefer a light or continental breakfast this is no problem - just let the staff know the night before and it will be prepared to the highest standards. Maybe you’d like an omelette or a more substantial breakfast - again this is no problem and the staff are happy to make your breakfast to your specific requirements. Ordering breakfast the day or night before is the best way to taste the freshest of ingredients from the local suppliers as each dish is specifically made for you and the obliging staff will go and shop for the highest quality produce for your first meal of the day.
The same applies to meals and snacks throughout the day, though a very comprehensive menu is offered too. The food and beverages are of high quality and always with the emphasis on the client’s wants and needs.
‘Breakfast boxes’ are, of course, made available for any visitors who choose to see the amazing sights of ancient Egypt earlier in the day, which is a very useful service during the summer months when it becomes very hot during the later hours of the day.
A variety of coffees and teas are also available - including Continental drinks and also Egyptian beverages like Shai (local tea), local mint tea or Karkade (hibiscus tea - Hibiscus Sabdariffa - served hot or chilled), which is supposed to assist in lowering the blood pressure. Soft drinks, chilled water and fresh juices are served throughout the day to keep your taste-buds tingling!
This well established hotel is one of the finest on Luxor’s West Bank and we are sure that you will appreciate the service, food quality and friendly staff - some of the most helpful to be found anywhere in Luxor.

The Amon Hotel is deceptive - it is hidden amongst some of Egypt’s lush vegetation and is only a few metres from the streets of Luxor’s West Bank villages and yet, once inside, the Amon Hotel is spacious and quiet - far from the madding crowd!
The central courtyard and wonderful tropical gardens are a testament to the care taken with every detail at the hotel. The exotic trees, shrubs and plants offer a wonderful area in which to have an afternoon break or to take breakfast in the exquisite gardens.
The Flowering Blue Lotus is now, sadly, almost extinct in Egypt but a German hard-working horticulturist and landscape designer has managed to produce a delightful garden and imported seedlings from which the blue lotus has re-emerged
Most tourists and archaeologists prefer to take their meals outside - though, of course, there are breakfast rooms and a large restaurant area.
The gardens have an almost surreal feeling - it is hard to believe that such beautiful gardens are offered in modern-day Egypt and these gardens are unlike any others to be found in the Luxor area.
The ancient Egyptians would have been pleasantly surprised to see a garden of such magnificence in the Nile Valley - under a mile from the Theban mountains and necropolis.
The hotel is ideal for people who are familiar with Luxor and also for those who aren’t au fait with the way of life in Egypt. Welcome to the Amon-Hotel-Luxor.com Website Blog
The hotel is a wonderful haven of delightful peace and tranquillity hidden amongst the fertile, lush lands of Luxor’s West Bank in Egypt.
The hotel comprises of seventeen rooms in one of three buildings each of which surround the amazing tropical gardens which have to be seen to be believed. The Flowering Blue Lotus is to be found in the various ponds shaded by the magnificent trees and plants. In fact, the Blue Lotus cannot be seen at any other hotel or resort in the Upper Egypt area and, in this sense, the Amon Hotel is truly unique.
The hotel has an informal atmosphere that any visitors will feel comfortable with, whether tourists or archaeologists. Many archaeologists stay at the Amon Hotel on Luxor’s West Bank during the excavation season and the amenities are more than comfortable for individual travellers, families or archaeologists.
Our web site is undergoing a massive change and we are overhauling our site and services to offer you the most wonderful facilities - both online and offline at the Amon Hotel Luxor.
Wishing you a very happy New Year.
